Our 3rd Annual Honoring Heroes Event supports our combat wounded vets
April 2, 2019 – In 2017 Olympic embarked on a new tradition: Every April we select a charitable organization that supports those we consider American Heroes. We’ve had the good fortune the past two years to donate a combined total of over $40,000 to JBLM Fisher House and the Washington Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
This year’s beneficiary couldn’t be more in line with what we try to do at Olympic Hot Tub every day—help everyone find better health and well-being through hot water. Water for a Warrior is a 501(c)(3) organization that helps combat wounded veterans obtain hot tubs when hot water therapy has been identified as critical to aid in recovery and improve ongoing quality of life. In some cases, the availability of a hot tub at their home provides the ultimate environment to allow exercise, ease pain, and promote healing. The buoyancy allows for therapy that can otherwise be impossible when attempted through land-based activities. Sometimes, this may be the only way they can do any therapeutic exercise consistently without pain.
Providing a solution for injury recovery at home is the ultimate gift. And, having that all-important vehicle to promote healing right in their own back yard helps immeasurably with emotional health, which in and of itself is paramount to getting your life back and feeling better.
Water for a Warrior works across the nation, identifying veterans in each state that need this type of therapy at home. I was thrilled to learn they are currently working to get hot tubs to at least two veterans who live right here in Puget Sound. We hope that our Honoring Heroes Event will be as successful as our previous two events and allow us to get tubs to both these vets. We’ve been lucky enough to surpass our $15,000 donation goal over the past two events. I’m optimistic we’ll be able to do so again this year!
If you live in our service area and have thought about getting a hot tub of your own, I hope you’ll consider purchasing a new Hot Spring Spa this month. It will help not only make a difference in your everyday life, it’ll also help vets who have served our country and defend our freedom.
