Congratulations to Don Riling- Celebrating 15 Great Years with Olympic Hot Tub Company!

Don Riling has been with Olympic Hot Tub Company since May 22nd 1995.  He started as a temp doing computer work for me.  One day a sales person in the Seattle store gave his resignation.  Before I had a chance to ask the other two sales people in the store if they would like us to hire Don permanently in that sales position, a strange thing happened.
A pedestrian opened the front door and yelled: ”Got any openings?”  One of the sales people replied: “Yes, as a matter of fact.” And, the guy ran away! Just then, a voice piped up: “What about me?” That was Don volunteering to work at Olympic.
Today he is our Sales and Operations Manager and handles both jobs with ease, aplomb, hard work and creative intelligence. He has been essential to our business growth. He is perennially upbeat. No matter what the situation, he is always sees the positive side. He is a true “Linchpin” in our company as reflected in the Seth Godin book by the same name.  Linchpins are the essential building blocks of great organizations: they invent, lead, connect others, make things happen, and create order out of chaos. They love their work and pour their best selves into it and turn each day into a kind of art – and, in today’s world, they get the best jobs and the most freedom.  And, that’s an apt description of Don.

In fact, when Seth sent out a call to his fans to send in photos and comments about the “linchpins” in their companies, I sent Don’s photo and a paragraph about him. If you buy the book, Don’s photo is on the inside of the dust jacket on the spine! Yes, he’s that valuable to our company!
He’s personally sold over 1,000 Hot Spring Spas. The following email posted on Google Maps on May 21st from one of his customers is a great testimonial for how happy he makes our  customers:
