Are you a massage lover? A sauna can help maximize the benefits of a massage
December 1, 2018 – I love a good massage. With three herniated discs and the aches and pains that seem to emerge more often as I get older, it’s quite a treat to let someone experienced help relieve muscle tension and stiffness.
If you’ve never done so, try taking a sauna session prior to your next appointment with a massage therapist. Whenever I can, I try to hop into my infrared sauna for about fifteen minutes before I make my way to my appointment. The time in my sauna does several things:
- Helps me start relaxing prior to my massage
- Helps release some of the tension in my muscles to make my massage more beneficial
- Increases my blood circulation to muscles and skin
I find the times I get to hop in the sauna prior to my massage I leave the appointment feeling more relaxed and limber than the times I don’t get the chance for a pre-massage session.
On the flip side of this equation: If you’re a massage therapist, why not consider adding an infrared sauna to your available services? Offering your clients a pre-massage sauna session not only maximizes the benefits of your massage, it also makes your job a bit easier! You’ll discover a client on the table after a sauna session who is better prepared for the rub. They’ll be less tense, with muscles that are more malleable than normal. You’ll enjoy greater flexibility in limbs, too. Overall, you’ll find that not only will it benefit your clients, it will boost the benefits of your massage—and make it a bit easier on you to do so! It can also give you another service to offer to increase revenue and position yourself differently from the many massage therapists out there competing for similar business. Just the presence of an infrared sauna in your practice will enhance your profile as a health and wellness specialist.
Whether you’d like to enjoy an infrared sauna at home or add one to your massage practice, we have the right Finnleo Sauna for you! Visit one of our showrooms today and think about giving yourself the sweet treat of a sauna. You’ll be so glad you did!
