Don’t let the waning days of summer stargazing pass you by!

September 7, 2018 – One of the very best things about hot tub soaking is getting outside and having a chance to enjoy the night sky. Summer time always gives plenty of opportunities for some terrific stargazing while soaking, with many nights being clear without a cloud in the sky.

For me, this time of year it’s more important than ever to make sure to soak regularly and take advantage of what’s happening in the heavens as an added benefit of hot tubbing. We in the Pacific Northwest understand soon there will be more gray days than clear ones, and the chances to see what’s going on up above from the bubbly waters of your tub will be limited.

A lot of us lament nightfall arriving sooner and sooner as fall approaches. But, it also affords unique colors in the sunset sky to enjoy from your hot tub, and twilight at this time of year seems especially precious as we head into the colder crisper nights ahead.

This coming Sunday will give you a terrific night to take in the stars, as the New Moon will arrive. Given that the sky won’t have its usual supply of moonbeams, you could get a dark pre-fall horizon to spot many stars that might be difficult to see otherwise.

There are plenty of sites out there that will give you an overview of everything worth a see in the night sky. Space.com will point out the popular events that many of us know about as well as some lesser known or unique opportunities to view shows in the heavens that may not be on our radar. (There is, I admit, an annoying number of ads on this site we could all do without to get to the info!)

Don’t let the final nights of late summer pass you by! Head out to your hot tub and look skyward! The time reconnecting with Mother Nature might just do you good.
