Recent study says sauna use can reduce the risk of dementia!
July 11, 2017 – There is new hope for those suffering from dementia. A study published recently by the University of Eastern Finland reports encouraging news regarding sauna use and dementia.
Researchers examined over 20 years of records for men in good health aged 42-60 years. Among the data collected were blood pressure, body mass, age, and alcohol consumption. It turns out that sauna sessions made a big difference. Those men who spent 15 minutes in a sauna at least four times per week had a significantly lower risk factor for developing dementia (66% lower risk) and Alzheimer’s disease (65% decrease in risk).
In the U.S. more and more folks are starting to realize the benefits of sauna including better sleep, relief from stress, healthier skin, and an improvement in the body’s immune functions. And now, with the knowledge that sauna use may help to decrease incidents of Alzheimer’s and dementia, it makes more sense than ever to include a daily sauna session as part of your plan to lead a healthier life.
