Olympic joins in recognizing World Water Day

March 19, 2026

Why does World Water Day matter? Water is essential for life. It’s a simple statement, but its truth is profound! Think of how often we use it every day: for drinking, cooking, cleaning, and recreation. Yet, for billions of people around the globe, access to clean, safe water is not a guarantee. This is why Olympic is joining in to observe World Water Day on March 22nd. It’s a day to reflect on the importance of fresh water and advocate for the sustainable management of this vital resource.

The reality is that a significant portion of the world’s population faces a water crisis. Billions lack access to safely managed drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene services. This isn’t just an inconvenience; it’s a matter of life and death, and it disproportionately affects the most vulnerable among us.

How does the global water crisis affect women and children?

When water isn’t readily available, the task of collecting it often falls to women and children. This isn’t a quick trip to the tap! It can involve walking for miles, waiting in long lines, and carrying heavy containers back home. These journeys are often perilous, exposing them to physical danger and taking up valuable time that could be spent in school or earning an income.

The World Health Organization reports that in 8 out of 10 households with water off-premises, women and girls are responsible for water collection. This daily chore robs girls of their education and women of opportunities to improve their families’ economic standing.

To make matters worse, the water they collect is often contaminated. Unsafe water is a primary cause of diseases like cholera, dysentery, and typhoid. Children are especially susceptible to these illnesses, which are a leading cause of death for those under five. The lack of clean water perpetuates a cycle of poverty and inequality, making it nearly impossible for communities to thrive.

What Olympic Hot Tub is doing to support clean water access

The global water crisis can feel overwhelming, but it is a problem we can solve! At Olympic Hot Tub, our company’s vision is “Better healthier lives through water”. We believe that everyone deserves access to clean water. It’s a core value that drives us to take meaningful action.

Since 2021, we have proudly partnered with charity: water, an organization dedicated to bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. Through our quarterly donations, we have raised over $126,000 to date. This contribution helps fund projects that provide communities with wells, filtration systems, and the training needed to maintain them. We are committed to continuing this partnership, helping to restore health, provide new opportunities, and bring hope to those who need it most.

Conservation at home: How can hot tub owners conserve water at home?

Our commitment to water extends to the products we offer. We believe in providing a healthy relaxing way to hot tub that is also mindful of our planet’s resources. That’s why we are proud to feature Hot Spring Spas with the revolutionary FreshWater IQ Salt System.

Traditionally, hot tubs require frequent draining and refilling, using a significant amount of water and chemicals throughout the year. The FreshWater IQ Salt System changes that. This innovative technology uses a small amount of salt to generate natural chlorine automatically, keeping the water clean, clear, and sanitized for much longer.

How does this save water? With the FreshWater Salt System, your hot tub’s water can last up to a full year before you need to drain and refill it. Compare that to a traditional hot tub, which often needs to be drained every three to four months! Over the life of your tub, this can save thousands of gallons of water. It not only conserves a precious resource but also saves you time and money, all while reducing your reliance on bottled water care products. It’s a smarter, simpler, and more sustainable way to enjoy your hot tub.

Join us in making a difference!

World Water Day is more than just an observance; it’s a call to action! It reminds us that our choices, both big and small, have an impact. Whether it’s supporting organizations that provide clean water access or choosing products that promote conservation, we can all play a part.

We invite you to learn more about our partnership with charity: water and how you can contribute. Consider how you can conserve water in your daily life. Together, we can help turn the tide and work toward a future where every person has the clean water they need to live a healthy, productive, and dignified life.
