Olympic celebrates World Water Day—Safe, clean water for all

March 20, 2023

March 20th, 2023 – At Olympic, we’ve had a passion for wellness through water since we started as a hot tub company in 1977. It was our primary focus for why we do what we do long before it became a marketing angle or mantra like it is for so many companies today. Our company vision states our goal simply: Better, healthier lives through water.

World Water Day is an international holiday that promotes the importance of clean, safe water and raises awareness of the global water crisis. It is celebrated annually on March 22nd and is dedicated to expressing appreciation for our planet’s most precious liquid—water.

The need for clean, safe water has increased over the last few decades due to the severity of our current water crisis. Most of the world’s water is not considered safe due to environmental contamination, overuse, and other factors. World Water Day reminds us of the importance of conserving and protecting our water resources. The holiday focuses on how we can manage our water resources better to ensure a sustainable future for all.

Nearly two years ago, Olympic began an internal campaign to help bring healthier water to communities in need around the world. In July 2021, we partnered with Charity: Water. This non-profit, founded in 2006, focuses its efforts on raising funds that can be dedicated to helping end the world’s water crisis. With each hot tub and swim spa we deliver to a customer, we help them find better lives through water. And, at the same time, we also set aside funds from those hot tubs and swim spas to donate quarterly to Charity: Water’s mission. I’m proud to say that to date we’ve given nearly $36,000 to this effort!

In addition to the importance of conserving our water resources, World Water Day is a great time to appreciate the fun and relaxation that soaking in a hot tub can bring. Taking a dip in a hot tub can help soothe muscle aches and pains, aid relaxation, improve circulation, reduce stress, and even lower blood pressure. Soaking in a hot tub is a great way to spend World Water Day, as it can serve as a simple reminder of all the joys water can bring us, even if just for a few moments of calm and relaxation.

World Water Day recognizes and appreciates the precious liquid that makes life possible—water. By conserving and protecting our water resources, we can create a healthier and more sustainable world. And by taking a few moments to enjoy a hot tub on World Water Day, we can be reminded of the joy and relaxation that water can provide us as well.
