Our 2nd annual Founder’s Event targets helping people recover from homelessness

Olympic Hot Tub's second annual Founder's Day Sale Event to benefit homelessness. Our partner this year is Path for Change, a group that helps the homeless through art education and training. Our goal is to help raise $15,000.00October 2, 2018 – This past June I had a chance to sit and have lunch with one of the mentors of my life—Alice Cunningham. Many of you know that Alice and her husband Blair Osborn are the founders of this wonderful company I’m now fortunate to be leading after purchasing Olympic from them two years ago.

During lunch, we talked bout a variety of topics: work (of course), travel, movies (we both have a big love for film), and the Seattle Men’s Chorus (of which I’ve been a member for nearly 32 years). Somewhere along the way Alice mentioned meeting Holly Jacobson. Holly is the Executive Director of Path with Art. Well, after ten minutes of Alice filling me in on what Path with Art’s mission is, the light bulb went off for me: this would be a wonderful organization to support with our next Founder’s Event. And, the fact that Alice had such zeal for the organization made it feel all the more right!

Path with Art is a non-profit that strives to transform the lives of people focused on once again achieving a stable life. They use art as a means to help individuals find their voice, their dignity and their sense of self again when those human building blocks get compromised by life circumstances that resulted in trauma, addiction and yes, homelessness. Rebuilding a life often takes far more than just a roof over your head. It takes support, it takes reigniting hope, it takes ongoing support and encouragement.

With cooperation from housing providers in the region—among them Plymouth Housing, the YWCA, and the Downtown Emergency Services Center—Path with Art helps hope emerge where there used to be none, and help folks reach out and re-connect with society so they don’t feel lost and alone. One Path participant says, “Art has given me back the joy in my soul.” Don’t we all deserve that kind of joy?

We’re hoping to raise $15,000 in October to help Path with Art help rebuild lives. If you’re in the market for a hot tub or sauna, what better month to buy? Hot Spring Spas has partnered with us to donate $300 for every Hot Spring & Hot Spot Spa sold this month. And, we at Olympic will also donate $100 for every Freeflow Spa, Finnleo Sauna & Covana Automated Gazebo sold. We’re even donating $100 for every pre-owned hot tub sold!

I hope you’ll join us this month and help us support Path with Art’s cause. You can learn more about this terrific organization at www.pathwithart.org.
